I can see clearly now the rain has gone

by jon on Jul.31, 2009, under Soteria, WMD Business

There has certainly been a lot of rain lately. It’s been pouring down! And people think Cornwall is sunny in the summer! I still maintain that if you can’t see Carn Brea it must be raining already! Come down to Redruth and that’ll probably make sense!

Still now that the rain has passed over for a few hours we can all go and stand on the rock at Portreath and Gwithean and see clearly to the horizon, and what a beautiful vista God has made. (Again you’ll have to journey down here to understand the view)

In the last week, at an incredible rate of knots, Rose and I made an unplugged mini-album. The guys of the Soteria team approved of the songs last night and now they are downloadable for free from the S:WMD website. Dubbed “Beautiful Horizon” this collection is Rose and her guitar in a sudo-Nashville-country-folk mix style, interesting isn’t it. This collection of Rose’s songs will not be released on physical CD except on specific requests (just send me an email via the contact form at the bottom of the soteria music homepage).

In other news my tugboat website for Soteria, www.jonathanrichards.co.uk, has had an overhaul, and the process towards reestablishing the WhiteLight band are now well underway.

That’s all the news for now. Enjoy the new music tracks.

God bless

Day(spring) ja vu

by jon on Jul.22, 2009, under Church Stuff, Soteria, WMD Business

Just like the old days of about a year ago, Rose Grigg and myself piled into Redruth Baptist Church today to have another record session. The Church’s recording equipment had gone wrong the weekend before so there was doubt that we’d be able to do anything, however the computer was fixed the amps were working and we were able to record about eight tracks of Rose’s new acoustic songs.

These songs are ones that so far you could only have heard if you;ve seen Rose play live, they are not re-records of old stuff but brand new ones. They will be available for download from the S:WMD website just as soon as we’ve ran them through post-production.

We give thanks to God for the work today, after starting with a prayer, then setting up, (then having a coffee), He enabled us to record all eight songs within two hours! I thought we’d need all day, and considering her DaySpring album took two years to make it we thought that today’s work was remarkabley speedy.

Keep checking back to Rose’s MP3 Download page for the new tracks available of course for free.

Thanks be to God.

Jon
